About Dr Varrall

Dr Caroline Ruth Varrall is an orthopaedic surgeon, specialising in Foot and Ankle Surgery.

Dr Varrall has worked as a consultant at Rockhampton Base Hospital since August 2018, including as the Clinical Director of Orthopaedics from January 2022. She is originally from the UK, and graduated from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 2006. Having completed her orthopaedic surgical training in the North East of England in 2017, she undertook fellowships in Foot and Ankle Surgery in Melbourne and Sydney.

Dr Varrall is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Australasia and Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Dr Varrall has presented locally and internationally at conferences and had a number of journal articles published.

Dr Varrall is Deputy Chair of the Queensland AOA Regional Training Committee and has been integral in creating the Far North Queensland Training Program.

Dr Varrall lives in Rockhampton with her husband, daughter and son. In addition to fixing feet, she likes decorating cakes and playing sport!
